Whew…that was a close one…

<p>I’ve been nervous as a cat in a roomful of rocking chairs since last night when I received an email from Abi that consisted of <i>can you get to your blog? I can’t get to mine or to Blogspirit in general</i>. Great.</p> <p>Blogspirit was attacked a month or so ago and I was one of the lucky ones who didn’t lose any photos - Abi did lose all hers I’m sorry to say - but of course I didn’t learn my lesson from that and backup my site, nosirree. I’m impervious to such things. <i>Not</i>. Supposedly we weren’t attacked this time since there was a notice up on Blogspirit this afternoon (<i>finally</i>) that said they were working on upgrading their system - if it was an upgrade why didn’t we receive a notice? Anyway, I’ll be backing up my sh*t tonight. It got me thinking about hosting my own blog, though. I even delved into Wordpress a bit today (and yes, my brain is a bit tender. Ever worry that if you learn too much your head will get full and you’ll end up forgetting something important - like how to tie your shoes - to free up space for all the new stuff you’ve learned?). Who knows, we’ll see. If the site goes down again in the near future I just might be moving again.</p> <p>My point? Thankfully it seems like all is up and in working order. I don’t have any knitting photos to share unless you want me to take a picture of my broken (yeah, BROKEN) Denise cord and me pacing the living room waiting breathlessly for the arrival of my #9 Addi’s from England ($8+$1.50 shipping on Ebay - you seriously cannot beat that.) so I can continue working on my simple v-neck. She said she sent them on Tuesday…how long do you think it’ll take for a package to get here from England? God I hope it’s soon.</p>

So you want to…

<p>…know a little more about me? I have been tagged by both <a href="http://jessaluknits.yarncourtesans.com/exit.php?url_id=29&amp;entry_id=25" title="http://caroleknits.knitblog.com/" onmouseover="window.status=’http://caroleknits.knitblog.com/’;return true;" onmouseout="window.status=”;return true;">Carole</a> and <a href="http://jessaluknits.yarncourtesans.com/exit.php?url_id=30&amp;entry_id=25" title="http://craftylilly.blogspot.com/" onmouseover="window.status=’http://craftylilly.blogspot.com/’;return true;" onmouseout="window.status=”;return true;">Jennifer</a>! They <i>like</i> me! They <i>really really like</i> me! *ahem* Sorry, I channeled Sally Fields for a moment there. I’m back ;o) In all seriousness, I’m flattered :o) So, buckle your seat belts ladies and gents, you are about to take a ride on the ‘Jess’ train and find out a bit more about me…unless you don’t really care and in that case feel free to move along ;o)<br /> <br /> <b>What is your all time favorite yarn to knit with?</b><br /> <br /> hmmm…that’s a tough call. I’ve recently fallen in <strike>lust</strike> love with Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock - I seriously cannot get enough. A good soft Merino will make me a happy woman. I’m allergic to Alpaca so…actually, there is a bit of light at the end of that tunnel. I touched some of the KnitPicks alpaca blend a few days ago and haven’t had a bad reaction other than my left eye being a bit tender. We’ll see, I’m not getting my hopes up yet ;o)<br /> <br /> <b>The worst thing you’ve ever knit?</b><br /> <br /> The plethora of eyelash scarves I subjected my family to last Christmas. Let us never speak of it again.<br /> <br /> <b>Most valuable knitting technique?</b><br /> <br /> Learning how to scroll websites using my toe and the spacebar with the wireless keyboard on the floor - ohwait you wanted to know KNITTING technique, not READING WHILE KNITTING. oops ;o) Umm…being able to knit and not watch what I’m doing. AND learning how to ‘read’ my knitting is proving pretty invaluable.<br /> <br /> <b>Your most favorite knit pattern? (maybe you don’t like wearing it…but it was the most fun to knit)</b><br /> <br /> I’m lovin’ the Madli so far. Unfortunately I haven’t had much time to work on it lately since at this point I need complete concentration but I do enjoy it when I can pick it up.<br /> <br /> <b>Best knit book or magazine?</b><br /> <br /> Interweave Knits all the way, baby. A fav book? I have so many, it’s hard to pick just one. I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings ;o) My top three would have to be <a href="http://jessaluknits.yarncourtesans.com/exit.php?url=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5hbWF6b24uY29tL2V4ZWMvb2JpZG9zL3RnL2RldGFpbC8tLzE1ODQ3OTM2NzgvcWlkPTExMzE1MTI3NDYvc3I9OC0xL3JlZj1wZF9iYnNfMS8xMDQtMTU1OTgwMi0zNzUxMTYwP3Y9Z2xhbmNlJmFtcDtzPWJvb2tzJmFtcDtuPTUwNzg0Ng==&amp;entry_id=25" title="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1584793678/qid=1131512746/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-1559802-3751160?v=glance&amp;s=books&amp;n=507846" onmouseover="window.status=’http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1584793678/qid=1131512746/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-1559802-3751160?v=glance&amp;s=books&amp;n=507846′;return true;" onmouseout="window.status=”;return true;">Last Minute Knitted Gifts</a>, <a href="http://jessaluknits.yarncourtesans.com/exit.php?url=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5hbWF6b24uY29tL2V4ZWMvb2JpZG9zL3RnL2RldGFpbC8tLzE5MzE0OTk2NjcvcWlkPTExMzE1MTI3OTcvc3I9Mi0xL3JlZj1wZF9iYnNfYl8yXzEvMTA0LTE1NTk4MDItMzc1MTE2MD92PWdsYW5jZSZhbXA7cz1ib29rcw==&amp;entry_id=25" title="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1931499667/qid=1131512797/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/104-1559802-3751160?v=glance&amp;s=books" onmouseover="window.status=’http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1931499667/qid=1131512797/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/104-1559802-3751160?v=glance&amp;s=books’;return true;" onmouseout="window.status=”;return true;">Knitter’s Stash</a> and any of the <a href="http://jessaluknits.yarncourtesans.com/exit.php?url=aHR0cDovL3d3dy5hbWF6b24uY29tL2V4ZWMvb2JpZG9zL3NlYXJjaC1oYW5kbGUtdXJsL3JlZj1icl9zc19ocy8xMDQtMTU1OTgwMi0zNzUxMTYwP3BsYXRmb3JtPWd1cnVwYSZhbXA7dXJsPWluZGV4JTNEc3RyaXBib29rcyUzQXJlbGV2YW5jZS1hYm92ZSUyNmRpc3BhdGNoJTNEc2VhcmNoJTI2cmVzdWx0cy1wcm9jZXNzJTNEYmluJmFtcDtmaWVsZC1rZXl3b3Jkcz15YXJuK2dpcmxzJmFtcDtHby54PTAmYW1wO0dvLnk9MCZhbXA7R289R28=&amp;entry_id=25" title="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/ref=br_ss_hs/104-1559802-3751160?platform=gurupa&amp;url=index%3Dstripbooks%3Arelevance-above%26dispatch%3Dsearch%26results-process%3Dbin&amp;field-keywords=yarn+girls&amp;Go.x=0&amp;Go.y=0&amp;Go=Go" onmouseover="window.status=’http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-url/ref=br_ss_hs/104-1559802-3751160?platform=gurupa&amp;url=index%3Dstripbooks%3Arelevance-above%26dispatch%3Dsearch%26results-process%3Dbin&amp;field-keywords=yarn+girls&amp;Go.x=0&amp;Go.y=0&amp;Go=Go’;return true;" onmouseout="window.status=”;return true;">Yarn Girls</a> books.<br /> <br /> <b>Your favorite knitwear designer?</b><br /> <br /> I like Bonne Marie Burns (I made her eyelet cardi) and Nancy Bush for starters but I’m also terrible with names and can’t remember most of the designers I like!<br /> <br /> <b>Your favorite knit blogs?</b><br /> <br /> This is…well, hard to answer. You can check out my <a href="http://jessaluknits.yarncourtesans.com/exit.php?url=aHR0cDovL3JwYy5ibG9nbGluZXMuY29tL2Jsb2dyb2xsP2h0bWw9MSZhbXA7aWQ9SmVzc2FMdSZhbXA7Zm9sZGVyPUtuaXR0aW5n&amp;entry_id=25" title="http://rpc.bloglines.com/blogroll?html=1&amp;id=JessaLu&amp;folder=Knitting" onmouseover="window.status=’http://rpc.bloglines.com/blogroll?html=1&amp;id=JessaLu&amp;folder=Knitting’;return true;" onmouseout="window.status=”;return true;">bloglines</a> to see who I keep track of/stalk. There’s alot there so brace yourself ;o)<br /> <br /> <b>The knit item you wear the most? (how about a picture of it!)</b></p> <p>I love my clappy and wear it almost daily! There is a photo of it in my album, since it is 12:30 I am getting the glare and must go to bed so I don’t have time to get a new one up here - sorry! :o( I can’t resist ‘the glare’!</p> <p><br /> That’s all for me.
