Happy day after Boxing Day everyone! I hope everyone has had all their wishes come true (so far) this Holiday Season!

99.9% of mine did.

I got some pretty good gifts this year – the main one being a CAR STARTER FOR MY JEEP!! YIPPEE!! The only time my car is truly cold when I get into it is when I leave work – Roger starts it for me when he leaves in the morning (isn’t he the greatest?) so it’s nice and toasty when I run out there 10 minutes late to drive like a bat out of hell for the office (didn’t you know, in theory, if you drive at the speed of light time stops and you somehow miraculously end up getting to your destination on time? I said in theory.) The 2nd greatest gift was a blocking board from Mom & Dad and then a gift certificate to Joann’s from almost-sister-in-law. (ASIL?) OH and the Wild! expansion pack for RCT3 (which I played for most of last evening) and Star Wars ep III from Dobby (a wonderful child, who really knows how to make Mom happy ;o) ) And lots of other stuff that I just don’t have room to list here. Suffice to say I’m very happy and grateful to have such a generous family.

The one thing I didn’t get was engaged – but I’ve been told that it ain’t gonna happen on a holiday because he wants it to be special. (He’d better hurry the hell up, though. I’m not getting any younger here!)

What did I get RR? (I’ve decided to give him a nickname since that seems to be ‘in vogue’. He shall forthwith be known as Roger Rabbit or RR for short.) (Roger Rabbit, get it? Roger, Jessica….Rabbit…? Anyway…) He received a lovely Tungsten E that I’m hoping he’ll be able to figure out without *too* much assistance ;o)) He was messing with it for most of the day yesterday and there was much swearing but I didn’t intervene. I’m a fierce believer in teaching someone to do something as opposed to doing it for them (give a man a fish he eats for the day, teach a man to fish…lifetime…etc.) so I’m staying out of it. It is painful for both parties, believe me. I also got him a 1g expansion card and now that he knows what he has he can pick out a case that I’ll get for him as well. I felt that cases are personal and I didn’t want to foist anything on him that he’s going to hate (for the record, he picked out the one I was going to get him).

We got Dobby several things but the ‘big’ gift was Dance Dance Revolution for her PS2 (we got her the boxed kit with two dance pads and a game). She had asked for it and now is playing it nonstop.

The dog was very cute on Christmas. We usually give her a chew from her ‘stocking’ first so she has something to do but apparently she didn’t chew the chew – she practically swallowed it whole – and was nosing around each of our gifts as we opened them wondering if it was for her ;o) Since we had so many people at the house on Sunday (11) she was a little nervous but slept it off on Monday.

And speaking of Monday – we spent the entire day on the couch. Doing nothing. Nada. Okay we made fun of Dobby on her DDR but other than that, not a fricken thing.

Ohwait, you want to know how my Christmas knitting ended up? Really? *sigh* oh, okay, since this is a knitting blog maybe I should mention the knitting…Scarf #2 was very well received, Hat #1 was too goddamned big so I had to rip it and re-knit it while the kid slept the day away because he felt sick :o( Hat #2 was very well received and the hat I had knit for a friend months ago that he said was too big but would take it anyway and then left it at my house and has since not asked about it so apparently he didn’t like it all that much was given to ABIL. Dammit. I don’t know about scarf #1 because that was sent to my aunt and I’m not sure if she is in Mass or Fla so I don’t know if she’s received it yet…oh and scarf #3 has yet to be gifted.

So now I don’t know what the hell to knit. Can you believe it? I have nothing on the needles other than that stupid cotton sweater that I’m sure as hell not knitting in December. Socks maybe? A shawl? I’d like to try to knit the flowerbasket shawl but I don’t want to start that until the new year. I’m a believer that what you cast on at the beginning of the year will be important and will color your knitting for the year to come. Do socks count? I gotta knit something or I’ll go nuts.

OH!! I forgot to tell you!! The highlight of Christmas! My freakin oven decided ‘closed’ isn’t a position it likes in the middle of baking the pies for dessert. I had to jam a kitchen chair under the handle to hold it closed SO now I get to go stove shopping…I wish I could afford a Vulcan or one of those lovely retro ones…*sigh*
