JessaLu Knits (and Spins!)

So…I managed to get to my <span title="Local Yarn Shop" class="serendipity_glossaryMarkup">LYS</span> today to get the Addi’s I <strike>wanted</strike> needed to get these hats completed. I also bit the bullet and bought three balls of Plymouth Encore.
<p>I had no idea.</p>
<p>This stuff is like heaven compared to the Wool-ease. I bought the bulky and #9 <span title="Addi Turbo cicular knitting needles" class="serendipity_glossaryMarkup">addi</span>’s as well as a new set of Brittany dpn’s because I didn’t have #9 dpns. If the Wool-ease would catch fire I’d have a cleansing ceremony with it and my clovers.</p>
<p>Seriously. I would. But…I can’t keep a flame going because of all the acrylic! <img src="http://jessaluknits.yarncourtesans.com/templates/default/img/emoticons/wink.png" alt=";-)" style="display: inline; vertical-align: bottom;" class="emoticon" /></p>
<p>So tell me…how are ya’ll doing with your knitting for The Day? I’m down 3/4 of a hat at this point so I’ll be knitting like a fiend tonight and tomorrow. The house doesn’t have to be actually *<i>clean</i>* for guests…does it?</p><p />

<p>So I need to knit a hat for The Day. It needs to be washable. Okay, I thought, I’ll give Wool-Ease a shot. </p>
<p>Bad thought.</p>
<p>I’ve never tried this <strike>squeaky, nasty cheap-ass</strike> yarn^* before and probably won’t ever again. If it didn’t need to get thrown in a washer, trust me, this Cascade 220 gal would be hot-footin’ it to her nearest <span title="Local Yarn Shop" class="serendipity_glossaryMarkup">LYS</span>.</p>
<p>Maybe it’s the needles.</p>
<p>I’ll be stopping at the LYS on my way to drop <span title="My daughter (The Teen)" class="serendipity_glossaryMarkup">Dobby</span> off at her father’s to get a nice set of Addi’s and we’ll see if that fixes the problem.</p><p><img width="110" height="83" src="http://jessaluknits.yarncourtesans.com/uploads/Photos/woolsleeze.serendipityThumb.jpg" style="border: 0px none ; padding-left: 5px; padding-right: 5px;" alt="" /></p><p /><hr width="100%" size="2" /><p>^*I’m really sorry if I’ve offended any Wool-Ease users. Maybe it’s the needles or maybe I’ve got a bad skein of it but it’s splitting and sqeaking and making me a little crazy. This is also the first time I’ve used the wooden Clover DPN’s in a loooong time so it could be that.</p><hr width="100%" size="2" />Update: the freakin’ LYS was freakin’ closed. ’nuff said.<br /><p /><p>

I decided to spend part of my Christmas bonus on myself this year - so I got me a DellaQ knitting bag. AND I think I’m going to get it before Christmas!! YAY!!
