I’ve created a monster!

<p><span title="Roger Rabbit – my SO" class="serendipity_glossaryMarkup">RR</span> isn’t a tech geek. Not by a long shot. Because of
this he has inherited all of my techie ‘hand-me-downs’ over the
years. Because of his job, he needs to use a GPS system (you know
– to find all the mansions to install the TV’s – ‘cuz they’re hard to
miss in the middle of all these cornfields) and he has tried a few
different ones but after he inherited my old Handspring a few months
ago he decided that he wanted to get a GPS for it. </p><p>Just in case you’re wondering…they don’t make GPS’s for Handsprings anymore.</p><p>So for Christmas I got him one of these babies:</p><p><a href="http://jessaluknits.com/exit.php?url_id=378&amp;entry_id=95" title="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000DB4D1/qid=1136260751/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-2417057-1293413?n=507846&amp;s=electronics&amp;v=glance" onmouseover="window.status=’http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000DB4D1/qid=1136260751/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-2417057-1293413?n=507846&amp;s=electronics&amp;v=glance’;return true;" onmouseout="window.status=”;return true;"><img width="110" height="110" src="http://jessaluknits.com/uploads/tungstene.serendipityThumb.jpg" style="border: 0px none ; float: left; padding-left: 5px; padding-right: 5px;" alt="" /></a></p><p>and
after much muttering, tinkering and frustration realized that I had
made a mistake. I thought it had bluetooth – it does not.
Thankfully I purchased it from Staples (not Circuit City, which sucks –
but that’s another story) and they had extended their return policy for
Christmas gifts to January 7th. So, he went to the Staples this
afternoon (without me, I might add) to get the E2 – which is one step
up from the E and has Bluetooth.</p><p>He did not get the E2.</p><p>He got the <a href="http://jessaluknits.com/exit.php?url_id=379&amp;entry_id=95" onmouseover="window.status=’http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BI7NHY/qid=1136261621/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-2417057-1293413?n=507846&amp;s=electronics&amp;v=glance’;return true;" onmouseout="window.status=”;return true;" target="_blank" title="Palm TX">TX</a>. I now call him Mr. FancyPants.</p><p>He sure looks happy, though, doesn’t he?</p><p><img width="540" height="405" src="http://jessaluknits.com/uploads/monster.jpg" style="border: 0px none ; padding-left: 5px; padding-right: 5px;" alt="" /></p><p>Happy
or Crazed….you decide ;o) Keep in mind that prior to this point
the most advanced handheld technology this man has ever touched is a
Handspring Prism. Be afraid, Geekdom, be very afraid. <br />
<hr width="100%" size="2" /><p>On the knitting front, those lovely
Jaywalkers that I posted yesterday? Gone. Done. It
wouldn’t have fit the dog if I could have held her down long enough to
force it over her scrawny leg. Apparently I am a chubby size
8. Or something. Or, perhaps when they say ‘size 8′ in the pattern, they mean a size 8 for a Pixie. So I frogged ’em (and I had made it to the
heel, thankyouverymuch. We will not discuss why I waited that long to try them on), went up a needle size and am knitting the
larger size. I might have to frog them again and knit the regular
size on the 2’s – we’ll have to see. The LL isn’t happy with me –
it doesn’t like to be frogged several times. I’m lovin’ my
ballwinder though, I’ll tell ya that ;o)</p><p>Hope you all have a great 2006!</p><br />
