A quickie…

…project that I *think* the dog is enjoying…

though methinks she’s not enjoying it as much as I’d like to believe…

This project came to fruition from reading this post and using her dog sweater calculator along with some weird-looking stuff from the stash and size 11 needles. It took me one day – and the dog no longer sits and shivers while looking at me like, “I’m freezing, woman! Knit me something!” Now it’s more like sitting and staring balefully at me like I’m torturing her to death.

*sigh* THIS is why I don’t knit for people!! ;o) (okay technically she’s not people. But you get my point.)

Ya’ll are going to seriously hate me…

…we are 99.9% done with our Xmess shopping.

Seriously. I wouldn’t lie to you.

We have to buy two gift cards and we’re done. DONE I tell ya! D O N E!!! Muahahahahahaha!

*ahem* ’scuse me for a sec…I got all excited there…sorry ;o)

Okay so I promised you some pictures, didn’t I? Well, it just so happens that Friday was a most excellent (almost legen..dary) mail day:

My ‘Congratulations for Buying a Turkey’ order came in from Spunky Eclectic (and yes, that is a perfectly legit reason for buying fiber. dammit). Clockwise from upper Right we have Superwash Autumn, Sangria, Hot Rod and Regular wool Autumn. Yes, there is some Hot Rod missing…it might have gotten spun up just a bit ;o) No photos – they were pretty crappy.

I also may have made another teensy ‘Congratulations for Making it Through Thanksgiving Without a Breakdown and With Most of Your China Still Intact’ order on Friday…before I got this order…okay so I think I may have quite a bit of ‘Autumn’ *ahem* At least it’s pretty…

I also did a bit of knitting for this:

I decided to do preemie hats since they’re pretty quick and I have a ton of cotton tots since a co-worker decided that he did not wish to receive a baby sweater from me (he has no idea the deprivation he is putting his daughter through, none). I managed to finish one, although I think it’s a little big. I’ll work on some more tomorrow and I hope to send them out to The Preemie Project later this week.

OH I also got my Spin-Off today! W00t!

And, even MORE exciting than that…(I know, how could I possibly top a new Spin-Off)…

Bunny got her ‘Festivus’ on. I know – can you stand the excitement? ;o)

I sure can’t – I think I need a nap ;o)

Day Three…

…of leftovers. I bet we’re all getting a little desperate, eh? Well, this ain’t no cooking blog but I thought I’d share my interpretation of turkey shepherd’s pie (tomorrow – pictures of spinning and maybe some knitting, I promise):

  • First, find a casserole dish or some kind of dish/pan that can go in the oven.
  • Cut up or break apart enough turkey to make a 2 to 3″ deep layer on the bottom of your dish, then put in a few glugs of leftover gravy. (don’t have leftover gravy? One packet of instant (mixed with water) will do)
  • Then, put on a layer of corn, leftover, canned or frozen – whatever works for you.
  • Next, a nice thick layer of mashed taters with some dabs of butter/margerine and paprika on top.
  • Stick it in the oven at 400 for 20 minutes or ’til heated through and crispy on top.

This is RR’s favorite recipe – hands down. Even over the croquettes. He made the mistake of spreading the word at work and now has a co-worker who requests ‘Meat Pie’ every Thanksgiving – and gets it, since he’s our favorite ;o) This year RR is making the meat pie since I’m on strike (after four days of cooking you see if you’re still in the mood) and I overheard him singing his “leftovers carol” (kinda like a Christmas carol – but weirder) while he was mixing everything up (to the tune of I Love the Nightlife):

I love the meat pie…

I want the turkeeeeyyyy…

In my tummy, aaaaiiiiiiyyyyyy

It’s very catchy – so much so that I can’t get it out of my head!

I wonder when dinner’s ready…
