…and again with the butt.
Okay I give up. Apparently it is just not meant to be. I will never get a photo of my daughter’s FACE while marching. Okay I haven’t completely given up – at least I can try again next year. *sigh*
This weekend two exciting things happened (well, other than Cummington and the events surrounding the festival). Firstly, I celebrated my first spinniversary since I learned to spin last year at the hands of the omniscient Shiela B. (can you believe I’ve acquired four wheels since then? Yeah. Neither can RR).
Secondly I actually got to see RR marching! In a parade! A real one! With music and horses and kids on bikes and fire trucks and flashy lights and everything! Usually the only view I get to see of him in his dress uniform is this one:
…that would be running out the door double checking to make sure he has all his crap. THIS year I got to see this:
Pretty handsome, aren’t they? ;o)
Also seen while driving aimlessly around upstate NY:
Yes, the house was just as scary as you might think…very Norman Bates-esque and no, we didn’t stop.
As for knitting….I don’t have time anymore, I’m updating my Ravelry notebook. ;op

Massachusetts Sheep & Wool…
…was wonderful – a beautiful day, great friends, fun all around. I finally managed to drag my *ss out of bed and get there around noon. Thankfully, there was still a bit of fiber left ;o)
I ran into the gang of usual suspects at the Bosworth booth where Claudia was picking up a very special spindle. (Unfortunately in the confusion of hello’s I didn’t get a chance to introduce myself to her or check out her new toy). There was a bit of wandering (with lunch in between) where I picked up this:
…and this:
Cashmere and silk from Foxfire Fibers
…and then I hit the Spunky booth:
One of those skeins (the one on the Right) was a gift for me from Cynthia! (Thanks again, Cyn!) Funny thing is – I bought myself the same colorway in a different wool blend. Frightening, isn’t it? ;o))
THEN…I went into the fleece sale. This is what followed me out:
…she insisted. Especially when someone stuck their hand in the bag while I was looking at her and stated it was a ‘beautiful fleece’. She practically jumped into my arms at that point, I swear! ;o) She is a Merino, her name is ‘Clover’, she was raised in Pittsfield (amazing, no?), weighs 5 lbs and will be sent out for processing. Steve (the Coopworth) taught me that there are limits to what I can do (that and Cate suggested it. Whatever Cate suggests you do when it comes to wool, you do.) ;o)
Speaking of Steve, she got dropped off at a processor on Saturday. I’m not sure how long it’ll take to get her back but at this point I don’t care as long as I don’t have to wash any more wool. Seriously.
Finally, we have this batt who had called to me earlier in the day but the vendor was too busy:
After all that was the blegger at Cate’s which was lots of fun – however, I was so burnt out at that point I’m afraid I wasn’t very social…AND I forgot to take any pictures! Complete camnesia. Doh!

Wha?
Holy falling down a rabbit hole, Batman. I go and buy a new toy and a whole week gets away from me! Sorry about that – this is a quickie random post too…I suck, I’m sorry. (AND, my freaking internet connection refuses to cooperate tonight so I’m going to go offline before I hit the router with something and make an expensive dent)
Tuesday I became the proud owner of a new kickass laptop (thank you, Mr. Taxman!) and I have spent all my waking hours since then trying to learn how to use #@!%ing Vista (For the record, I’m not a big fan at this time) and moving my files over.
Oh, and maybe playing RCT 3 (Roller Coaster Tycoon) after I finally got it working (THAT took me like 8 hours. I hate Vista. Wait. I already said that.)
Also, Scout was kind and generous enough to share an invite to Ravelry with me so please excuse me while I introduce myself to that new bit of time suckage… (The OCD knitter in me is VERY excited *grin*) (if I could only get the internet connection to cooperate…grrrr)
Finally, I will be at Cummington tomorrow! w00t! See you all there! I’ll be the disoriented, pale, overwhelmed geeky fiberist who keeps muttering, ‘…dual core patch?…no, it must be the frame rate screwing it up…no NO don’t crash! …ravelry…must enter yarn…patterns…’ (or some version of that) to herself ;o)
