Merry Xmess…

…to me!

In all the craziness of the past month, I managed to fit in a gift for myself:

Handspun Cowl on...

…here it is all laid out next to the tree (with my iPhone for scale – a la crazyfiberlady):

Handspun Cowl

The colors are more true in the first picture.  The pattern is the Dragonfly Fire Cowl (rav link) and the yarn is mine.   This project took me all of three evenings from beginning to end – it was awesome.  I might do another one just for kicks and because this pattern is so easy, it’s like comfort knitting.  I don’t have to think about it.

The only drawback to a cowl is what it does to the curly hair.  I look like a mad scientist when I take the thing off – I think I scared the crap out of a toddler at the grocery store yesterday.  ;o)

This is my official last post until Monday so I’d like to take a moment to wish you all a happy and a healthy!!

Six, six…

…uh oh.

Waaaay back in November, Kathy tagged me for a meme.  It goes to show how far behind I was in blog reading that I didn’t know this until Saturday.  (In my defense, my life kind of exploded around December 1…I’m really sorry, Kathy)  The assignment is to go to your sixth picture folder, sixth picture, post it and try like heck to remember…

Waiting

…yay!  I remember!  These are a bunch of socks I finished up on the CSM last June.  They were waiting for toes – they have toes now.  ;o)

I’m not doing an official tag here – let’s just say if you’re reading this, and don’t have a crapload of holiday knitting to finish, you’re tagged.

ECF on Monday…

…our tree (it’s a red and green year and yes, the outside decorations match the inside…the gift wrap may match too.  Shut. Up.):

…and blurry:

 Xmess Blurred

…but that’s not what you’re here for.  ;o)

On Friday I kicked off a little contest, the person who left the 4,000th comment on my blog would win a prize of some stash yarn (or fibery goodness).  If we hit that milestone in the comments of that one post, I’d give away another prize to a commenter drawn at random.  I had a feeling we’d hit in in the one post and we did!  So yay!  Two winners!

The 4000th commenter is….

CAROL!  (on her first try. *AHEM*)

The random winner is…

KELLI!!

Congrats to both winners – please send me your address, whether you prefer yarn or fiber and favorite color by clicking on the ‘Contact Me’ link over there to the Right. —>

Everyone else?  Thank you so much for participating and for all your complements on my sweater!!  They are much appreciated!
