Ten on Tuesday…

…the one with a little bit of Easter (and maybe a couple more engagement photos?)

Okay, definitely more engagement photos:

Me

This week, our directive is 10 Favorite Easter/Passover Traditions.  I’m a gentile (from waaaay back – Mayflower and beyond, even) so I’m going to stick with Easter.  I’m also not very go-to-church-regularly religious so…well, you’ll see. ;o)

1.  Cadbury eggs are EVERYWHERE.  So, I guess you could say that one of my Easter traditions is to go to the drugstore the Monday after Easter to pick up a few (dozen) boxes on clearance.  ;o)

2.  Baked ham.

3.  Au Gratin potatoes.

4.  Did I mention the Cadbury eggs?

5.  Mac and cheese on Monday with leftover ham bits.

Retro Ring

6.  Mmmmm…Cadbury Eggs.  In December.  ‘Cuz I bought them on clearance in April.  ;o)

7.  R walks around the house saying “Bok bok thanks Easter Bunny”  yeah, I know, he’s a dork.

8.  I try to thank the gods of television that there are no Easter jewelry commercials.

9.  Not watching the 10 Commandments.  (sorry)

10.  Oooh!  Cadbury eggs!  hehe

…and, because I can, a photo from yesterday with a new (to me) photoshop action (because I learned yesterday that they work in Elements!  woo!)

One more?  Okay:

Us Warm Autumn

(I might like that last one the best…maybe.  ;o)  )

So tell me, what are your Easter or Passover traditions?

  1. Oh, R is not a dork… I walk around the house saying “bok, bok, Thanks easter bunny! Bok bok!” — that was the best commercial ever, btw.

    Love the engagement photos!!!:)

  2. I like the kind of modernized seder I usually participate in (though not this year), and I like cheese toast on matzoh, and I like Cadbury eggs, too, but they’re freakishly hard to find here this year.

  3. I love the photos from your weekend. WONDERFUL! I love Easter weekend. My husband and I started dating the Saturday before Easter. We got married the Saturday before Easter. So we celebrate our love – the Saturday before Easter. Wonderful time of year!

  4. Fantastic photos! I really do love the last one. And your ring – so beautiful!

As far as tradition, we usually do a family dinner (my Mom’s side of the family.) Ham, deviled eggs (a must!), green beans, and other southern-esq food stuffs. And then I pretend to be nice to my Aunt C as she brags about her grandson, my cousin. Who is becoming a doctor and just got married and can do no wrong. LOL Ah, family!

  5. We don’t celebrate Easter ourselves (I mean, we go to Easter dinner somewhere or another because our families celebrate it, but still.) We do enjoy dyeing eggs, though we haven’t done it in a couple of years, but our main Easter tradition, such as it is, is the annual viewing of Monty Python’s Life of Brian. It seems like an appropriate replacement for the Ten Commandments or Jesus of Nazareth or whatever. ;-)

I think I am the only person to have never tried a Cadbury egg :-) Your top photo is so full of joy! Beautiful.

  7. Your hair looks so pretty in that last one!

I’ve never been a religious Jewish person but I loves me some peeps…and matzoh…and those chocolate covered cherry marshmallow candies. It’s all about the food, no?

Cadbury Eggs! I buy them for Tom, every year. It’s the only thing I do and…ummm…I can’t remember where I put the ones for this year! Oh no!!

    Bok bok! LOL!!!
