April…

…done.

Fox Grape Leyburn Socks

I’ve finished the April socks for my 2009 Personal Sock Club and I’m completely smitten with them.

Fox Grape Leyburn Socks - Leg

I did not follow the Leyburn pattern for the toes or the heel.  I used the Magic Cast on for the toe and Wendy’s Toe-Up Sock with a Difference (PDF link) heel recipe for the heel.

Fox Grape Leyburn Socks - Heel

The heel I chose begins the gusset increases in the middle of the bottom of the foot which I thought looked pretty cool.  The only thing I didn’t like about it was it took me for-freaking-ever to do the heels.  If I didn’t have such fat heels (or high insteps – whichever), I’d have done the regular short row heel like the pattern directs.

I am so totally loving these socks – I’ve worn them for three days.  I should probably take them off and wash them eventually… ;o)

Project Details:

Pattern: Leyburn Socks [Rav Link]

Yarn: Autumn House Farms Strideaway Sock Yarn in the colorway ‘Fox Grape’ purchased Rhinebeck 2007

Needles: Knitpicks 2.5mm circs

Started April 2 – Finished April 19, 2009

When I finished these on Sunday I had no plan whatsoever in place for what was going to be up next.  Sure I have a ton of WIP’s but most of them are socks and I wanted to do something that wasn’t on leetle tiny needles for a change.  It took me a day but I decided…

Lady Eleanor - the beginning

I’m on tier 3 and loving it – got the hang of backwards knitting too.  ;o)

Stick a Fork in March…

Charade Socks Really Up Close

I almost finished these in March – they were done at 12:30something am this morning!  Woo!

Details:

Pattern: Charade [Rav Link]

Yarn: Shibui Sock in ‘Pebble’

Needles: Knitpicks 1.5 circs using Magic Loop method

Time: uuuhhh  Three weeks?  I KNOW!!! Considering it’s tax season (see previous post) that’s a minor miracle right there.  Maybe I should call these my Tax Season Miracle socks, hehe

These are warm and squishy and I love them lots!

Up next…who knows?  I have to pull another bag.  No Cookie, we don’t get a month off!  lol

p.s.  Have you heard about this?!  RR has been informed that we will no longer be waiting to purchase a BlueRay player.  I don’t care how much they are and I don’t care that we don’t own any BlueRay movies, even just owning this ONE will make it worth it for me.

At least…

…I was productive.

BFL from spunky

200 yards of chain-plied DK weight BFL purchased from Spunky Eclectic ages ago.  I cannot remember the colorway for the life of me but I think it has something to do with a Forest…I can’t find the band thingy anywhere, either.  It’s probably in the mound of receipts on my desk…anyway, I also have:

Merino from The Painted Sheep

350 yards of chain-plied superwash merino purchased from The Painted Sheep ages upon ages ago.  I do remember the colorway for this, it’s Dublin Bay.  Actually, I don’t remember but my Etsy history does.  ;o)

That’s all I managed to produce this weekend – ohwait I did produce 2.5″ of ribbing on my gloves while watching the Steelers WIN THE SUPERBOWL!  Including the LEGEN…waitforit…DARY 100 yard interception that had me screaming at the TV like a crazy woman, hehe

It was AWESOME.

…and The Office episode wasn’t bad, either.  ;o)
