…not the CPH, sorry to disappoint. I’m still fighting with a button decision – who knows? Maybe I’ll forgo them completely!
I did, however, finish a project that had been hanging out on my needles since May of last year, my Central Air socks from the Rockin’ Sock Club 2006:
The colorway is PeaseBlossom and I knit them on size 2.5mm KnitPicks circulars. The reason these took so long is that they hurt my hands to knit them, I think because there are so many k2tog and ssk on every other row.
I’m so glad to finally have these finished – I didn’t realize I started them almost a year ago!! Yikes!
In other news, for those watching the new Austen on Masterpiece, what did you think of the first installment of the new Sense & Sensibility last night?
I worked on two projects this weekend, one knitted and one spun. I didn’t finish either of them ;o)
I’m knitting another pair of socks (shocking, I know). These are from the 2006 STR club lineup:
The colorway is ‘PeaseBlossom’ but instead of knitting the ‘Hippy Crunchy’ pattern that came with that colorway (don’t like it for several reasons), I am knitting the ‘Central Air’ pattern that was the ‘easy’ pattern included in the ‘Titania’ package which came the month following the ‘PeaseBlossom’ colorway. I’m liking it so far… I’m dying to work on the newest kit that just came – the one with the Silk yarn – but I’m trying to complete the kits in order. Not sure if I’ll stick with it…time will tell ;o)
The spinning project I am working on is the Lisa Souza BFL in “Emerald City”:
I’m Navajo plying it and it’s coming along…slowly… I’m such a slow spinner sometimes, it’s so frustrating. I am liking how this is turning out so far – and I plied most of it while watching The Wizard of Oz last night. Fitting, isn’t it? It wasn’t even planned ;o)
Oh and I have a question for those who may know – when in the h-e-double-hockey-sticks will the freaking plying head be available for the Sonata? I’m not known for my patience and the ‘available soon’ has been up on the New Voyager site for MONTHS. SO frustrating.
I received the buttons for my Rock n Weave socks from the Button Drawer yesterday:
I think they might be a bit too close together and am considering ripping and re-doing the buttonholes. What’s keeping me from doing that? The picot edge bind off. That thing was a bitch.
I found the Button Drawer through Deb – it’s a great resource for those like me who have a crappy button selection in their area. Shipping is very reasonable and they say there is no order too small ;o)
That’s all I have to report today – in case you missed my last post, I’ve been playing Civ 4 for 22 hours a day for the past week (you also missed an Eris update but oh well…) ;o) The Civ playing has kind of cut into the knitting time, but I do have another pair of socks in the works!
*One of many great lines from Shrek ;o)
…really speeds up your knitting ;o)
I’ve had this cough for a week or so and just found out that it’s bronchitis. The newest development over the past week is I’ve pulled a muscle in my chest from all the coughing so laying down hurts like hell (so does breathing, putting on or taking off a shirt, washing my hair and pretty much anything that involves alot of upper body movement, in case you’re wondering…)(and now I can’t wait to see what kind of google hits that sentence brings). So, sitting up all the time leads to knitting…alot. I think I finished these socks in record time (though they are pretty small to begin with). The photo on the left is the cuff of the sock which is done in linen stitch. Unfortunately, I finished the socks so fast that the buttons I need for the cuffs (to hold them closed) haven’t arrived yet!
