Whoa time really got away from me this year! No posts from July to December is quite a gap – I’m sorry for the neglect! I’ve been super busy with Stitched by JessaLu, every year it seems I double my sales (which is awesome!) which means I double my workload (which is stressful but awesome!) which means something has to give and apparently this year it was the blog. and vacuuming. I’d promise to try to do better but we all know how that ends up. ;o)
So to move on to what this post is actually about, my boss (yep that’s me) decided I was worthy of a new camera!
That’s a shiny new Pentax K-30 – I am in some serious love with this camera. It’s SO SHINY. The glass is not new, I only purchased the camera body, but I don’t care, the whole thing has me all happy to take pictures again (my old Pentax started having focusing issues, it has gone to get looked at and possibly fixed and R may have a new camera). Wanna see pretty pictures? Okay!
*sigh* I love my new camera. I did no post-processing on those photos, they are posted as shot.
Happy ECF – I’m hoping to talk to you again before (or on) Christmas! ;o)
Last Monday was my *cough*st birthday so R and I took a trip up to Maine to visit friends and do some touring along the touristy spots – here are a few photos from our trip:
As you can see, I overdose on lobster rolls. It’s a good thing we only do it once a year! ;o) My favorite? The one I get on the first night. Harraseeket Lunch & Lobster makes a wicked good lobstah roll!
…the spinning so far. As per usual, I’m spinning my Spunky Club fiber for TdF to attempt to whittle away at the 8ish POUNDS that are now stuffed into the Bin of
I think I’ve managed to spin twice as much this year as I spun last year. Which isn’t much since last year I managed to spin 4oz. ;o)
First up, ‘David’s Gift’ on SW Corriedale:
Spun on the CPW and plied on the Matchless from a center-pull ball. I ended up with 284 yards of fingering-ish weight. I seriously love this colorway!
Second we have ‘Eye of the Peacock’ on Cotswold Sheepswool Sliver:
Also spun on the CPW and plied on the Matchless frmo a center-pull ball. This ended up being 177 yards of thick/thin 2-ply that varies in weight. This is SO pretty, it’s possibly going to be a hat someday but currently it’s just going to be pretty.
That’s it so far! I’m not sure what else I’ll be able to get done before the end of the Tour because now I’m prepping for vending at Fiber Revival on August 10!
See you soon! Spin Happy!
Wow I can’t believe I haven’t posted on the blog since February! I’ve been crazy busy with the shop – for which I am eternally grateful since that’s how I make my living these days – so everything other than shop updates and sewing has suffered lately. I’ll try to post a little more often than once every fourth months, though!
I hope you and yours are having a wonderful Fourth of July weekend! We did our annual fireworks show for our little town last night, here is some video of the finale:
I hope to be back soon with some pictures of Tour de Fleece spinning!
