…so I shall deliver. Pictures of the CPH on me:
I swear, if it weren’t for my face (and the rest of me), I’d be happier to post photos of myself on the blog. it’s not that I don’t *like* my face (or the rest of me), it’s just that I don’t like the spastic fits that I appear to be suffering from whenever RR hits the shutter button. That last one is the only one in which I’m facing the camera (out of the 20 RR took) that I like. (yeah, I’m picky…it’s all part of my charm.) Speaking of picky, please note that the sleeve insert looks just as good on my actual arm as it does on tNH’s arm. ;o)
Thank you all for your complements on my new sweater – they are much appreciated! I haven’t taken it off since I finished it, and I’m so happy that it’s done before Spring has fully kicked in so I can wear it a few times before it has to be put away for the season!
Now, on to button choices:
I have my favorite, let me know yours!
…oh thank the GSD* that’s over.
The New Hottness would like to present…my finished Central Park Hoodie.
I plan on doing ‘afterthought’ buttonholes (a la EZ) when I’ve decided on buttons (don’t worry, I’ll be asking for your opinions after the choices have arrived!)
I chose to kitchener the hood closed instead of seaming (yes, you can see the line – but I also haven’t washed the hood yet. That will disappear after the first soaking). I picked up and knit the button bands after the hood was complete so they are seamless, also.
My favorite part – there is much beauty in a set-in sleeve that has no puckers. ;o)
Wait. I lied. My absolute favorite part? It fits.
* GSD = Global Standard Deity . See the Thursday Next Series for more info. ;o)
…but at least it’s this week! I’ve made some progress on the CPH, so far I have both fronts and the back done (as well as both sleeves to the sleeve caps done), the shoulders sewed together and 8″ of hood completed. Want pictures? Here you go:
I seriously cannot wait to be done with this. In other news, there was a minor miracle on Monday. Beanie and Jazz have refused to be anywhere near each other (unless there was food involved). On Monday, they decided to share a chair. RR and I were speechless – and thankfully it lasted long enough for me to get a shot:
…in the interest of full disclosure, I should probably tell you that they are laying on a heated throw. ;o)
…I had big plans for today’s post. I was for sure positive that I’d have at least 8″ of knitting on the right front side of my CPH to show you. Why don’t I have this, you ask?
Because, apparently, I cannot remember knitting instructions to save my life.
Last Tuesday I was ready to cast on for the right front of the CPH so I brought the yarn and needles to dinner (at The Old Mill – a weekly occurrence since RR has fire practice on that night so cooking is a bit challenging) and forgot the directions. Not a big issue – I thought at the time – all I need to do is cast on 52 stitches and k2 p2 back and forth for four inches.
Except it was p2 k2 and trust me, it makes a difference.
I ripped it out last night.
What. the. Hell.
…and an addition to Chez ‘Lu.
No, not THAT kind of an addition. No more dogs, no more kids (frankly, Dobby has broken me, er, spoiled me for any other children) and, I have been told, no more video games for a while. (*sniffle*)
First, thank you all for your Blog-Birthday/Blogiversary/Blogaversary/Blogversary wishes! I love hearing from you – even if it does take bribery to get you to comment! ;o) (you know, you can comment more, I mean, I don’t bite, at least…not often. *cough*)
Second, meet the New Hottness:
I don’t know why, but that’s what popped into my head when I took her out of the box and set her up for the first time on Monday. I have since been informed that ‘New Hottness’ is not an acceptable name so I need to come up with a new one. Any suggestions? (seriously, RR is really becoming a stick in the mud now that he’s on the downward slope towards the big four-oh. Wait. Maybe I shouldn’t have told you that…)
What is pinned on her at this time is my CPH in progress. Yes, the front section is pinned onto the wrong side, I realized this when I reached the arm decreases. It’s fixed now. ;o) I’ve been making crazy progress ever since Carole went and used her mom voice the other day and told me to put down the Wii controller and start knitting. When Carole uses her mom voice, you listen. You ever hear her mom voice? It’s skeery! ;o)
But you guys don’t really care about my knitting progress, do you. At least, not today. Not when there’s a Big *ss Prize up for grabs! I bet you all are dying to know who won, aren’t you? Well, I won’t make you wait another second!
I put all your names (times two since all you guys who commented on my last post were pre-commenters) into my super-de-dooper name picker (RR’s hat), swirled them all around and pulled out….
Congrats to Michelle, who will be receiving a gift certificate to the Loopy Ewe as soon as she lets me know what email she wants me to use to send it AND a skein of sock yarn AND a hank-o-roving from my stash! Hell, I’m jealous – I wish I could have won! hehehe
Thanks again to everyone who played!
