…the one with all the ‘just one more’.
I held back a couple of pictures from the hiking trip I posted about a few weeks ago. The first I’d like to share with you is one that is kind of a juxtaposition – a fall leaf caught in an evergreen tree. I’ve been attempting to come up with a clever title for it for weeks but alas, I am not talented enough to think of one.
The second one I’m calling ‘The Face of Terror’ – poor Jazzy hated the water at the falls that day. RR was trying to get her to stock a toe in and all she would do was cower under him. *sigh* so much for our dreams of getting her to play fetch at the lake…
That’s it for this week! Have a great weekend, everyone!
…the one with some more nature…and maybe I’ll throw a dog in there for some spice. ;o)
btw, the nature? Trying to kill me. I’ve taken two Zyrtec and not only am I a little jittery but my ears STILL itch and I STILL can’t breathe. At all. This sucks. Oh and it’s raining. /whine
ohyeah, you came here for the pretty, not the whining. ;o)
Honeysuckle on the front of my house – the Hummingbirds are loving this plant!
The promise of lots of tomatoes…if we ever see the sun again. ;o)
…and Jazz, taunting Beanie into chasing her. This goes on all. day.
That’s all I have for now, have a great weekend!
…actually, this morning she ate an ant bait spike that I had put out last night under the peonies (the ones she didn’t eat yet – did I mention she ATE one of my peonies earlier this spring? No? Sorry about that…). After my first run to Agway today, I came home to see her trotting around with a green spiky thing in her mouth. I called the vet and he said to bring her in. Great.
When I called later in the day to make sure she pulled through the stomach pumping so I could kill her, the vet said that she vomited up assorted sticks, twigs, grass, bits of plastic (!) and…ant poison. He also said it was a good thing I brought her in when I did…blah blah blah. Don’t get me wrong, I’m very happy she’s okay (upstairs sleeping with Dobby as I type this, even though at this point I’d rather lock her in her crate for the rest of her natural life) and I’m glad I brought her to the vet. I’d be HAPPIER if she weren’t a walking garbage disposal whose sole purpose in life appears to be to eat everything in her path. I’d be HAPPIER if she hadn’t eaten the damned thing in the first place.
I’d be freaking ecstatic if the cost of the emergency vet visit and stomach pumping wasn’t the exact same amount as the *bleeping* stimulus check that just happened to arrive in the mail today.
…I’d have lovely photographs of a finished Mr. Greenjeans to share with you all. Unfortunately, Mother Nature has decided to be uncooperative so we’ll have to wait an extra day or so for the FO post (I’m sure the astute among you already noticed that Mr. G. has been at 100% in the sidebar since Thursday. Trust me, I want pictures as badly as you guys do but we’ll all have to wait ’til RR and the weather are all on the same page since I have no set-up for mirrored self-portraits or patience for monkeying with the tripod).
In the meantime, I have a couple of things to share.
First, Jazz would like to say, “hai.”
Is that not the cutest set of floppy puppy ears you’ve ever seen?
Next, I recently offered to do a favor for a fellow knitblogger. To thank me, Deb sent a thank you card and, in order to make sure the card did not get damaged, included some lovely handspun:
and a cake of Silkie STR from the 2007 Sock Club (Walking on the Wild Tide colorway) in a lovely silk bag:
Thank you, Deb! That’s some gorgeous packing material. I hope you enjoyed your tapes! ;o)
Also, I don’t think I shared with you all the presents Dobby brought back for me from her London trip:
That’s a magnetic notepad for my grocery lists, a Mr. Darcy (COLIN FIRTH!) keychain and a Bath postcard. Not bad! ;o)
In blogosphere news, there’s a new podcast that’s been added to the knitting podcast lineup. The Manic Purl Podcast has weekly episodes that are produced by Chrissy who blogs at Chrissy’s Random Life. I have only listened to one episode so far but the one I did listen to was well put together and a good length (between 30 and 45 minutes). She does a good job with continuity and no ‘uhm’ and ‘ah’ sections that I noticed. The best part about this week’s episode? Yours truly is the featured blogger! Thank you again, Chrissy, for all your compliments (RR says I am now impossible to live with, btw) and for choosing my little spot on the web to review. I’d like to welcome any and all visitors from her podcast site – thanks for stopping by! :o)
…is hers. Jazz decided that Santa was to pay my debt for ‘The Great Canine Humiliation of 2007″
Oh well, at least he gave her a (small) tummyache (she’s better now – 30+ year old Play Dough is hard to digest). ;o)
This is my ECF for the week – have a great weekend, everyone!
