Mr. GreenJeans…

My progress so far:

The New Hottness offered to model today. ;o) I have about 4 inches to go and I’ll be done with the body - then it’s on to the sleeves! I’ve slowed down a bit since it appears that I have suffered a knitting related injury - my Left wrist hurts like hell. I’ve had a brace on it since Saturday and it’s feeling better but I’ve decided to take a little mini-break from the knitting. Trust me, it’s hard. I *want* my sweater! (I guess this means I’m a product knitter…at least, this week.) ;o)

There was one thing I wanted to clear up from my last post - yes, Dobby gets two proms. Her school has one prom per year for both the Junior and the Senior class. One reason why this can work is that there are only about 50 kids in each class - unlike RR’s high school which had 2,000 kids in the graduating class (he only had one prom). Last year, she was on the Prom committee since the Junior class ‘throws the party’ and the Seniors enjoy it. This year is the ‘big’ year - a limo and everything! Trust me, there will be pictures. ;o) Sorry for the confusion!

*sigh*

…sorry for the late post today, I’ve been…pouting. I don’t expect the pouting to last too much longer but let’s just say I expect the ‘pit of despair’ feeling to last at least until after the parade on Tuesday.

Football sucks. Although, it does become more interesting when you realize that you are the only woman in the room and you are explaining the game to the two guys watching with you. hehe

But ANYWAY. This isn’t a football blog (thank God), it’s a knitting blog. So, I bring you knitting:

Clapotis Revisited

Yes, it is a Clapotis. No, I haven’t mentioned it before. Yes, I’ve been knitting it instead of the CPH. I felt the need to have a warm neck and decided that a Clapotis knit out of Lorna’s Laces Lion & Lamb would be just the thing. However, I only have three skeins of L&L in Black Purl instead of the necessary four so my clappy is a bit on the skinny side. Also, it is taking forever and a day to finish and I want it completed before we go to NYC on Sunday for the Lunar New Year festivities. Walking around the city can get pretty chilly so I need all the ammo I can get! ;o)

The traitorous CPH has 7″ of the needed 9″ for the arm hole section. I worked on it a bit last night but not much - I was too pissed and every time TB got sacked I got even more pissed which wasn’t conducive to even gauge. You guys don’t get a picture, either since it pretty much looks like it did in the last picture I posted.

That Screeching Noise You Hear?

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

That would be me. Screaming. In anguish.

I had the back done on the CPH. Done. As in ‘did the bind offs for the shoulders’ done. Then I realized that I had too many live stitches to put on a holder.

I looked at the beautiful, almost complete, evenly knit piece I had before me and had a head-banging-into-a-brick-wall moment. When I began the decreases for the arms? I only bound off 4 stitches to make the armhole, not 8.

I had to rip back 9 inches of knitting.

No, really. I did. I tried to figure out some way to fix it without having to rip but I just couldn’t wrap my brain around making knit stitches disappear into thin air. I’m pretty sure it can’t be done. If it can? Don’t tell me.

Yay.
