Ten on Tuesday…

…the one with all the knitting possibilities.

Fire!

Another photo by RR – I guess I need to get out with the camera more often.  ;o)  Also, They weren’t leaving the fire, they were parked at the scene!

This week, Carole has directed our little band of merry miscreants to make a list of the 10 things we want to knit RIGHT NOW.  This is a bit of a challenge for me since I’m coming off of 16 days of pretty intense knitting but I’ll give it a shot.  ;o)

I spent an hour (or two) clicking around Ravelry and:

1.  Garter Yoke Cardi (I have the yarn to make like three of these.  I should probably get to it)

2.  This is so CUTE!

3.  Cobblestone (I have the yarn for this, too)

4.  Tea Leaves Cardi

5.  Cute!

6.  Oooh I like this.

7.  This looks warm and good for a skein of handspun.

8.  and again with the cute!

9.  I’ve had this in my queue for a looong time (yep, have pattern and  yarn for this one, too)

10.  I also need a new pair of slippers (since Jazz chewed through the strap of my Mary Janes)

Okay that’s my list – tell me, what you do want to knit right now?

Ten on Tuesday…

…the one with all the…can’t you see I’m knitting?

Intent ObservationJazzy – keeping an eye on the neighbors.  ;o)

There isn’t an official topic (again) this week, so I’m coming up with my own topic (Carole and our band of rebels have a topic but since I’m knitting for the Olympics and that’s kind of what’s on my mind right now, I’m going to go with what I’m obsessing about in the interest of not taxing my brain this week). So, without any further ado:

10 Things to Say to Your Family While Knitting for the Olympics (the predecessor of this post is here, btw. I went through this once before, remember? Don’t ask me why I decided to do this a second time.  I think, like childbirth, the memory of the pain lessons after the passage of time.  It’s either that or I’ve completely lost my mind.  shut. up. ;op ).

1. Hi. Why are you staring at me?

2. No, I can’t cook you dinner. Here’s twenty bucks for a pizza.

3. No, I don’t care what you get on the pizza.

4. No, REALLY. I don’t care! KNITTING here!

5. Why is Mommy crying?  Because she loves knitting.  A lot.

6.  YES, we are watching ice skating.  No, I don’t care if you like it.

7. Are you going to fast forward through these commercials or am I going to stab you with a double point?

8. Wait.  What?  NO I CAN’T GO PICK UP THE PIZZA!

9.  Stop whimpering, I didn’t yell *that* loudly.

10.  This will all be over on Monday.  (Yes, this Monday.)

So tell me, how is your Olympic knitting coming along?  ;o)

Ten on Tuesday…

…the one with all the coping.

Whorl

(Maybelle’s Whorl ^)

When I went to write my ToT post there wasn’t a theme listed on the official site – my friend Carole has come up with alternatives in the past so I emailed her to see if she had any ideas.  Because Carole is way more prepared than I am, she did.  ;o)  So, this week brings you my list of:

10 Ways to Get Through the Rest of Winter (in no particular order, of course):

1.  Go spinning with friends.  The 2nd Annual Stir-Crazy Stitch and Spin is March 6 in Hudson, NY – will I see you there?

2.  Get in the frame of mind where I actually enjoy snow, cold and lack of sunshine.  It has been known to happen and with my daily 30 minutes in front of the sun-light in my office I might be able to pull it off.  Besides, doesn’t a fresh coating of snow make everything look wonderful?

3.  Get more exercise.  Just moving for 20 min a day helps raise your seratonin levels and helps you fall asleep at night.  ;o)

4.  Use my Crockpot more to make yummy comfort food – beef stew, chicken and dumplings, short ribs…yum.  It’s hard to enjoy food like that in the Summer months.

5.  Enjoy the lineup on Masterpiece Classic – Right now we’re in the midst of Emma with Northanger Abbey and Persuasion on the horizon.  It makes for a wonderful Sunday night with the wheel!

6.  Sign up for Ravelympics – I think I’m going to be in the WIP section and I’ll be working on my Twist.  I’m looking forward to getting some knitting done on my sweater!  I *need* one!

7.  Drink.  A lot.  (okay not really.  I’m not a drinker, can’t handle the alcohol, but I’ll tell you something in the strictest confidence:  Sunday night?  R and I were working on the Guest List From Hell and I was seriously contemplating the whiskey.)

8.  Try to spin down my stash so when I go nuts at NH S&W from being stuck in the house forever I won’t feel all guilty.

9.  Keep up with my fellow bloggers.  The new Chrome browser has plugins and I’m giving the Feedly plugin a go – it ties in with your Google Reader so you don’t have to import stuff, it just works and it looks pretty.  It offers up a random selection of new posts for me when I go to the dashboard which makes it easier for me to read stuff since I feel all guilty when I choose one of you guys over another one when I have five minutes to read.  ;o)

10.  Get excited about getting more new prints up in the shop – I kind of went into hibernation mode after Christmas and I need to get my butt in the sewing room so I can share all these new prints with you!  Funky flowers and bees and…and…well, you’re just going to have to wait a bit.  ;o)

Okay, there is my list…do you have one?
