Even with all the crazy…

…around here lately, I managed to finish something!  Remember these?  Well now they look like this:

FO: Isle Caribe Socks

I did a Sherman Heel – my favorite since there are virtually no holes.

Isle Caribe Heel

Just in time for the end of Summer of Socks ’09 (my ONLY PAIR this summer, I’m such a SS failure!) and the weather to turn chilly in the Northeast, too!  ;o)

Details:

Pattern: My own toe-up magic-ish cast on, Sherman Heel, 1×1 rib sock pattern

Yarn: My own handspun – 4oz of sport-weight in the Freckle Faced Fibers colorway ‘Isle Caribe’

Needles: Size 3 Addi circs

Next up:

Aestlight Shawl - the beginning

Aestlight shawl in Malabrigio sock won in a blog contest at Risa’s (thanks for picking my name out of the hat!)

Also, thank you all for your congrats and well wishes regarding my bags being offered at a yarn shop in my area!  You guys are awesome and the reason why I keep sewing like a madwoman!  :o))

p.s.  If anyone is interested, I started a FaceBook fan page for Stitched – I’ll post updates n stuff on there and you all are welcome to share your thoughts on your bags!  Thanks again!

It’s Heavenly…

…to knit with handspun.  I had forgotten.  ;o)

I needed something simple to knit for WOOL, something I could carry around with me and take out to keep my hands busy while waiting in line for meals or sitting at the table or sitting in the living room area when spinning wasn’t doing it for me.  I thought and thought and couldn’t decide what pattern would work…

…then I saw the basket.  I grabbed a skein of handspun:

Isle Caribe - Merino

wound it up into a ball, grabbed a pair of #3 needles and stuck the whole mess into one of my project bags.  I cast on for a toe-up sock on Thursday afternoon and by yesterday I had this:

Isle Caribe Sock in Progress

Not bad for a weekend’s worth of knitting.  ;o)  I’m totally in love and want to knit more and more with my handspun!

p.s. The shop is open after being shut for my weekend away!

Stick a Fork in March…

Charade Socks

Charade Socks Up Close

Charade Socks Really Up Close

I almost finished these in March – they were done at 12:30something am this morning!  Woo!

Details:

Pattern: Charade [Rav Link]

Yarn: Shibui Sock in ‘Pebble’

Needles: Knitpicks 1.5 circs using Magic Loop method

Time: uuuhhh  Three weeks?  I KNOW!!! Considering it’s tax season (see previous post) that’s a minor miracle right there.  Maybe I should call these my Tax Season Miracle socks, hehe

These are warm and squishy and I love them lots!

Up next…who knows?  I have to pull another bag.  No Cookie, we don’t get a month off!  lol

p.s.  Have you heard about this?!  RR has been informed that we will no longer be waiting to purchase a BlueRay player.  I don’t care how much they are and I don’t care that we don’t own any BlueRay movies, even just owning this ONE will make it worth it for me.
