Friday already…?

If it’s Friday, then it’s time for a bit of eye candy ;o)

When I was a little girl I spent most of my summers at my maternal grandparents’ – and those memories are some of the best memories of my childhood. My grandmother was a very caring woman who showed me how to sew and how to bake (cooking wasn’t really her forte – but she was really good at making the pressure cooker explode). One of the things that has stuck in my memory about my grandmother’s house was that she had a milk-glass chicken in the middle of her kitchen table. Since I’ve grown up and gotten my own kitchen table I have been searching for a chicken just like hers – trying to relive some of my childhood memories, I guess. Over the years I’ve picked up a few here and there but they weren’t the same. However, I am happy to report that RR and I found a chicken just like hers at an antique shop in upstate NY. Actually, RR was the one who found it (one of the many reasons why he is the best – he’s really good at finding stuff and remembers what I’m looking for better than I do). It now lives in a place of honor in the middle of my kitchen table, just like hers did. And, it’s full of flotsom, just like hers was ;o)

The smaller chickens I’ve started using to hold my stitch markers ;o)

Happy Friday, everyone – enjoy your eye candy! ;o)
