…spinning, that is. ;o)
Most of my spinning projects lately seem to be running in the laceweight field – which means long and drawn out since it takes longer to spin a thin single. Those of you who know me, know that I’m not exactly a patient woman, therefore all this laceweight is frustrating the heck out of me. I decided that I needed a quick project, something that I’d get done in a couple of days, something I’d be able to carry around in my purse and show off that YES! I DO make yarn that takes less than three months to spin! (and yes, I took it to knitting group in my purse and yes, I showed it to everyone, hehe)
So on Saturday at Tina’s birthday picnic thing on the Hudson, I broke out the batts that Tamara gave me as a hostess gift. This was a perfect venue to spin them because the Angelina really picked up the sunlight – at one point it was observed that I appeared to be spinning a ‘fairy tale’. It was pretty cool. ;o)
Here is a reminder of what I started with:
By the end of the day, I had spun it all up:
and by Sunday afternoon, I had yarn:
Details:
Spincerely Yours Hand-carded Mini-Batt
Superwash Merino/Tencel/Angelina
126 Yards – 2-ply (plied from a center-pull ball) – Worsted Weight
…I guess it only takes two days to spin a fairy tale. ;o)
