Mittens!

Last winter, after shoveling the driveway for the zillionth time (remember last winter when we had that weird frozen stuff all over?), R requested a pair of mittens to help keep his hands from freezing off.  I haven’t knit many mittens – I guess we just aren’t a ‘mitten’ family – but I can’t say no when he requests something specific like that.

So, not only did he get mittens, he got mittens knit from handspun:

Mittens !

I think he likes them. ;o)

Project Details: (Ravelry Page)

Pattern: Basic Men’s Mittens

Yarn: Worsted Weight Handspun in Cranberry Bog purchased at Rhinebeck

Knit: February 2011 (yes, I’m slow with the blogging about the knitting…)

Hope you all have a great weekend – rumor has it we’re getting a dusting of the white stuff tonight, I can’t wait! I’m sick of this brown winter!

Warm Hands…

…I have them.  ;o)

More Finished Knotty Gloves

It took a little while but they’re done and I’m happy.

Pattern: Knotty Gloves

Needles: 1.5mm Knitpicks Options (used magic loop method for entire glove)

Now my needles are empty – but the Olympics are right around the corner!  I can’t wait!

Thank you! …and some knitting progress!

I thank you, RR thanks you and his car club thanks you.  All of you.  At last count we had 45 comments/entries and even more clicks through to the bank website (and I’m hoping that clicks = votes!).  You guys are awesome!!  I will tally everything today and pull a random winner for a skein of my yarn tonight – the winner will be posted tomorrow.  Good luck to you all!!

The past few weeks have been crazy busy for me.  Busy crunching numbers and busy in the sewing room (new bags are going up in the shop today!  Probably this afternoon – btw, did you know you could subscribe to an RSS feed for an Artfire or Etsy shop?) which has led me to yearn for ‘down time’ which has led me to do more spinning and, consequently, more knitting.  Instead of casting on a new project, I decided to start working through some of my WIPs.  First up?  My hands have been pretty cold lately so I decided to break out the gloves.

The last time I spoke of my Knotty Gloves was June 18th when I was at this stage of the game:

Knotty Gloves - all fixed!

For some reason, after I posted this, I put them down for almost six months (!).  I’m thinking maybe I was intimidated by fingers…ohwell, now they look like this:

Getting there!  ;o)
