FO: Color Affection

Yes, I have another finished object to share with you! This one I finished right before Rhinebeck so some people have seen it in person.

FO: Color Affection

I love this knit. I mean Love.

FO: Color Affection

I wear it almost all the time – it’s been super cold here in the Northeast and the wood stove isn’t doing a very good job keeping up with our 200 year old windows (my old farmhouse still has the original handmade glass in the living room) so lately when I’m on the couch, I’m wearing this.

FO: Color Affection

It keeps my neck and shoulders cozy warm.

FO: Color Affection

It helps that the yarn was dyed by two good friends – and that it has cashmere in it ;o)

FO: Color Affection

The blue and purple were dyed by Judy of Ball and Skein, the grey was dyed by Kim of The Woolen Rabbit. It’s like getting a hug from both of them whenever I wear it!

Project Details:

Pattern: Color Affection by Veera Välimäki

Yarn: Ball and Skein Sophia in Fox Grape and Beach Glass; The Woolen Rabbit Harmony Sock in Raven

Needle: Knit Picks interchangeables – but I don’t remember the size! I want to say 6?

Time to Knit: 4 months!

FO: Trillian

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and are now having a happy new year!

I actually have an FO to show you – I cast on Trillian right after Christmas and finished it just this week. I have one mod (heavier yarn) but mostly I knit it true to pattern.

Trillian

It was such a simple knit and, since I knit it with worsted weight instead of fingering, it felt like it grew super fast!

Trillian

I picked up this Madeline Tosh Vintage in Flashdance while on a trip to Webs with friends last February. I didn’t really have a plan for it, but I knew I wanted something shawl or cowl-like.

Trillian

Since I have crazy curls, I can’t wear a cowl unless it has buttons. Pulling them over my hair makes everything frizzy and terrible so I avoid that at all costs.

Trillian

I’d much rather have a nice little shawlette to wrap around my neck so I went with this pattern. It flew off my needles and now I have a nice squishy neckwarmer for the winter!

Project Details:

Pattern: Trillian by Martina Behm
Yarn: Madeline Tosh Vintage in Flashdance (worsted weight – pattern calls for fingering), 2 skeins
Needles: Size 8 Knitpicks Interchangeable tips paired with a Knitters Pride cable
Time to Knit: 3 weeks

Aestlight…

…is finished!

Aestlight Shawl

…and that makes me *very* happy.

Aeslight Finished

This shawl is all garter stitch – I never thought I’d actually miss purling.

Aestlight Shawl

Hopefully, we’ll have a couple more days if chilly weather so I can wear it at least once before putting it away until the Fall.

What’s up next?  Bags.  Bags, bags and more bags.  I feel like the guy on the Dunkin Donuts commercials, I keep wandering in and out of the sewing room muttering, “it’s time to make the baaaags.”

Why all the crazy sewing and muttering?  I’m vending on Saturday, here, along with a bunch of my friends who make fibery stuff (Tina has a list here).  If you are within driving distance, maybe you’ll stop by?  It’s a wonderful show, right on the Hudson with gorgeous views of the river.

If you do stop by, please say hello!  I love to meet blog readers in person – and please tell me who you are because I’m kind of an idiot when it comes to putting faces to names.  ;o)

Okay, time to make the bags!
