Fireworks!

Hi all! I’ve been busy (I know, I’ve been saying that for years now, I’m sorry) so I haven’t been posting regularly and I’m sorry. I really do think about blogging but I can never seem to carve out the time. At least I do updates now and then and I don’t overload you with ‘look! bags!’ photos all the time. ;o)

This time I’m going to overload you with ‘look! fireworks!’ photos – we just returned from a week in LaPorte, IN at the 2012 PGI Convention!

Here is a slideshow for you:

If you click the ‘full screen’ icon at the lower right and then click ‘show info’ at the upper right, you will see my photo descriptions. Also, full screen? Very cool photos if I do say so myself. ;o)

Those photos with Roger, Dave and our friend Paul are not photoshopped – I took them while live shells were going off behind them. Pretty cool, yes? You also get to see photos of the setup of the ‘Mega’ and ‘Super’ String of firecrackers – 3+million firecrackers all lit off at once!

I did some spinning while we were there:

and even some knitting!

I also visited a Great Lake!

I couldn’t be so close and not actually touch it. ;o) Okay it’s back to work for me – the shop reopens on Friday!

Ten on Tuesday…

…the Fourth of July edition.

After the Kabooms

This week, our directive is ’10 Favorite Things About the Fourth of July’!  So, without further ado…

1.  4″ shells.  They’re compact, easy to load in the guns and pretty when they go up.

2.  6″ shells.  Also easy to load, a bit bigger in the air and, also pretty.

3.  8″ shells.  They go higher in the sky and fill it up nicely.

Kabooms !

4.  Dragon’s Breath – did you know Creamora is an explosive?  Don’t light a match if it’s floating in the air… (the things you learn at fireworks convention…)

5.  12″ shells.  These are actually my favorite.  HUGE chrysanthemum filling the sky!

6.  Hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill!  Though, when we were doing the Bennington, VT show, we would have a KFC picnic every year.

PGI Fireworks - Wednesday Show

7.  Seeing how many car alarms we can set off.  Our record is six during the finale.  ;o)

8.  Pasta salad!  I love making mine as an antipasto with meat, cheese, some veggies and italian dressing.

9.  24″ shells.  I’ve only seen two go up but they were AMAZING.

Fireworks !

10.  Having a friend with a pyrotechnic license.  It definitely makes the Fourth (and other special days) memorable!

Okay, you have my list – what are your favorite things?

You know you haven’t posted in a while when…

…your cookies expire and you can’t remember your password.  THAT was a fun five minutes!

Sorry for the radio silence, it’s been nuts over here and I’m pretty sure you guys don’t need to see post after post about bags and bags and being chained to the sewing machine, ad naseum.  ;o)  (speaking of bags though?  The buckets and spindle bags are up)

So, I know I haven’t been around much and you’d probably like to see what I’ve been spinning (yep, I’ve been spinning!) or knitting (yep, that too!) however, there just wasn’t enough sun yesterday to take the photos I needed to take.  This means you get RR pictures – always exciting, I know.  ;op

He and Dave went to a club shoot over the weekend in New Hampshire – I stayed home with the dogs, it was a lovely weekend full of Lord of the Rings extended versions and knitting.  (and whatever I wanted for dinner, whenever I wanted it, whatever I wanted to watch on TV whenever I wanted to watch it and no lagging on the wifi.  It. was. ossum.  I was happy to see R when he got home but still.  I love my ‘me’ time.)  Where was I?  Oh yes…kabooms.  I even have video!
