Ten on Tuesday…

…the Fourth of July edition.

After the Kabooms

This week, our directive is ’10 Favorite Things About the Fourth of July’!  So, without further ado…

1.  4″ shells.  They’re compact, easy to load in the guns and pretty when they go up.

2.  6″ shells.  Also easy to load, a bit bigger in the air and, also pretty.

3.  8″ shells.  They go higher in the sky and fill it up nicely.

Kabooms !

4.  Dragon’s Breath – did you know Creamora is an explosive?  Don’t light a match if it’s floating in the air… (the things you learn at fireworks convention…)

5.  12″ shells.  These are actually my favorite.  HUGE chrysanthemum filling the sky!

6.  Hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill!  Though, when we were doing the Bennington, VT show, we would have a KFC picnic every year.

7.  Seeing how many car alarms we can set off.  Our record is six during the finale.  ;o)

8.  Pasta salad!  I love making mine as an antipasto with meat, cheese, some veggies and italian dressing.

9.  24″ shells.  I’ve only seen two go up but they were AMAZING.

Fireworks !

10.  Having a friend with a pyrotechnic license.  It definitely makes the Fourth (and other special days) memorable!

Okay, you have my list – what are your favorite things?

So…what are you doing…

…this weekend?

Mine should be pretty exciting, tomorrow is the Hudson River Stitch & Spin which was lots of fun last year…

Hudson River Stitch & Spin 2008

…see?  Lots of people having lots of fun.  ;o)  The details are here on Tina’s post and if you can make it, I can promise you a good time.

Sunday I’m going to be on top of a mountain surrounded by firemen…which probably won’t suck, either.  ;op

Sorry no eye candy this week, other than the lots of people having lots of fun…maybe I can get a shot of a hawt fireman for you guys for next week.  hehehe

p.s.  I lowered shipping costs in the shop AND if you’re participating in Summer of Socks you can get a coupon code on the Rav group!

Spinning…

…I do that sometimes.  ;o)

Since I’m not 100% happy with the knitting these days I’ve been spending some time at the wheel.  Here is a peek at my ‘singles basket’ – this is where I put my bobbins of singles waiting to be plied:

Singles Basket

Waiting patiently from left to right we have:  two bobbins of Crown Mtn Farms Corrie Pencil Roving in ‘Tibetan Dreams’; two bobbins of Crown Mtn Farms Superwash Merino in ‘Blue Suede Shoes’ and hiding between them a bobbin of Spunky Eclectic Superwash Merino in ‘Grand Opening’.  (Thanks to blog-free Manise for helping me figure out that last one, I couldn’t remember the colorway to save my life)

I should be able to get some of this plied up over the weekend since Risa arrives on Friday and when she’s here it turns into a spinfest.  ;o)  She’s coming up for the Massachusetts S&W fest this weekend – we’ll be there, will you?
